Gully washer here.  Just got a STS lofted. Had up to 3"/hr rates about 5 minutes ago.  Lots of convection and some loud claps.  Already have 0.61" in the bucket.  Currently >1"/hr rain and 61 with dp 60.

Got some bowing going on with a segment over the city.

Something that didn't fall apart on approach for the first time in i don't know when

I agree.  The stratiform moderate rain falling right now with embedded thunder is the first true dent in our persistent drought since last summer.  The ground is taking every bit of it for once as the the soils were not frozen.  3-5 more events like this in the next 30 days will end the drought conditions. The base flows will come in the creeks in the morning.

most  areas around me have received above 1.25+ in of needed rainfall. The areas in Northern LV received less than a half an inch. The jackpot area was basically south of I-78

I am a few miles south of you and I am at 1.12” as this winds down, maybe with luck i hit 1.20”. During the worst of it the first line slightly split around me, which was my limiting factor. The airport is at 1.5” and likely hits 1.75” in the next update. If I had to guess I would say Emmaus to Coopersburg got close to 2”. Overall I am happy. Not a drought buster but we did well.

This thing is the gift that keeps on giving. Couple times slowed down a bit only to pick right back up. Lightning and thunder are gone but the rain hasn't left. Thankfully the imaginary drought is over and my car is now free from the dusting of pollen...

Imaginary drought?

About 1.70". Reached a high of 79F yesterday, down to 51F at midnight, currently 40F.

(And who hacked Drought Guy's account with the positive posts??))

We had at least 3 good rain events during the month of March. Starting with the one on the 5th, then on the 16th/17th, and last night. Over 5 inches of rain in during the month, which is a first since August. The worst of the drought is over.

I was looking at the yard yesterday -- two weeks tops before I have to get off my butt and start mowing. While I was out on my Jebwalk this morning, there was a landscaping service mowing in my neighborhood already.

I thought the same, that was quick. Now it's time for the grass to hit steroid mode meaning I'll have to cut it every 4 days or so...

I'm really close to my first mowing even up here in Tamaqua. Well, where the grass actually grows. I need to fix the spots our dog killed off
