As predicted this area has been inundated the last 24 hours with a very beneficial heavy rainfall, with the bulk of it falling last night: this Cocorahs map for the 24 hours ending ~7AM shows 2.4-3.5” over much of the E half of Chatham County into N Bryan County! Plus some more fell after 7AM and more is expected later today with the upper low. The last time the area had anywhere near this much was 11/7-8/2024. Prior to this, the heaviest since 11/7-8 was 1/21-2/2025:

It would seem based on obs, that little or none of this band is reaching the ground . Quite a dry airmass!

It really is. Only been spitting here off and on and you can watch the returns evaporate as they get north. Does look to be consolidating more to our south. Could be a dreary evening if that makes it north

This is wild! Despite only a marginal tornado risk, a tornado (EF2!) hit the studio in Seminole County, FL, a little NE of Orlando along I-4 this morning while the TV met was on the air!!

Was not expecting to be locked in with a wedge today. 49 and overcast, occasionally drizzly. Upper 60s forecast high in serious danger of busting now

Was going to post the same thing. 49 here with a forecasted high of 64. It's just been too cloudy.

KSAV had beneficial rains of ~0.5” at KSAV today. Much of the rain was light to moderate, a good soaking rain. There was thunder a few times and it was quite windy since last evening,  but there was nothing severe in my area.

The rain clears out just in time for tomorrow’s St. Patrick’s Day parade, one of the largest in the US. Thanks to the luck of the Irish, it will be sunny, breezy, and cooler tomorrow making for a near perfect day!

Edit: my rainfall on 3/16 ended up at ~0.75”
