Why is it always so damn windy in the MA?  We rarely had this crap in Michigan.  I'm surprised all the pine trees don't only grow branches on the east side of the tree like in the tundra.

There are many places above 3500 foot elevation around here that ARE like that. Or, trees that are 'stunted' in size and lean to the E or ESE on west facing slopes or right on the tops of ridges.

Edit- highest wind now 49 mph about an hour ago. Still seeing flurries in the wind.

Boy, we do WIND WELL. Just had a 43 followed by a 42 mph WNW gust in last 15 minutes. Currently 36.6/26.5 with a WNW wind at 16 gusting to 28 mph and a few flurries in the air at 11:30 am.

EDIT- that makes WC 27/24

Never underestimate synoptic winds. If it were sunny today, we'd mix more effectively and probably get some legit gusts.

Finally see a few open spots in the sky (I'll call it mostly cloudy), NWS had 'sunny' in forecast all day lol. Currently 34.8/22.9 after a 38.4 high with light flurries most of day. Highest wind was 49 mph at 1:18 pm.

One of the more common forecast errors is predicting sun after a storm passage. We’re generally miserable at that because there always seems to be too much residual moisture as the cold air filters in.
