The GFS had been the one model bringing a cold front through Monday night, which would ruin our chance at 70s Tuesday.  Other models kept pushing the big warmth, even the Euro.  It appears the GFS was correct.  We'll still be warm, but maybe not quite as warm as models had been suggesting.

The Euro has had its struggles, for whatever reason.

Another example is this current system and snow. The GFS was on it for days, but it took a while for the Euro and other guidance to catch on.

Driving back home from MI, ground was basically completely bare the whole way, though there was a dusting just N of Ft Wayne, where a pretty strong band had been sitting for a little bit. Flurries from Lansing to there basically, but nothing was sticking really. Hoping to bag some 70s this week before a return to the frozen north.

Got 0.2" of snow this evening on the northern fringe of the heavier snow band in northern Ohio. It's slippery and crazy sparkly. It would be incredible if it was on top of a snowpack.

The 0.2" brings my season to date to 27.9". DTW also had 0.2", season to date 26.9". No snow fell from Detroit city north. Meanwhile Ann Arbor saw 0.6" and Toledo 1.8".

A chilly 23° this morning ahead of the coming weeks warmth.
