1930s about to repeat?

There is some indication that things could turn "wetter" for a period towards the end of March / early April in parts of the Southern Plains / SW.

Likely nothing drought-busting by any means, but any litttle bit will help before an early season heat ridge starts to build in after the first week of April...

Quite a turn around in Omaha. No big amounts, but multiple storms. They were sitting at an incredible 1.0" season to date thru February 10th, and they are now at 13.4" before whatever they get today.

Although, I cant figure out what the other 2 blizzard warnings were besides today and March 4th. Since they are prone to crazy windstorms and blizzards in the plains, seems like the NWS's out there sometimes overdue blizzard warnings (in terms of how often they verify vs when they are issued).

The Blizzard Warnings are definitely verifying out there today just west/NW of Omaha.

The Euro definitely gets an F- for it's handling of the placement of the warm front today.  We were supposed to make 70, but will likely stay in the 40s with a stiff northeast wind.  This must be what it feels like to live along LM in May lol.

Yep, not real worried about these storms when its 43 and cloudy.

I have to wonder if the dust being mixed in is helping make good lightning. Just a hypothesis.

It's just that convection has continuously curled into the cold sector.

Very dynamic storm system overall.

Bad job across the board, really. This time yesterday, pretty much all guidance had the warm front north of here.

Classic I-80 early spring warm front scenario.

Feels like the apocalypse here in East Central IL. Brown/red skies as others have mentioned. Very windy and dark, tornado watch underway. Weather is awesome

glad we're out of the doldrums, just need a sub 990 low in the region every couple days to keep things interesting, not too much to ask for

Got my first 20C of the year, my high was 22C/75F! Waterloo ON got their first 20 too and the UW station contest just ended a few mins ago at 4pm it reached 20.1C! It happened so fast that the director hasn't even updated the page yet which is another first.

Somehow despite the immense snowpack the temps around here keep overperforming. Most of the snow is gone.
