WestMichigan
We can't even pull off a good rainstorm this year. Yesterday the forecast was for about 1.4" at GRR. At this point breaking 0.5" might be a challenge. This lack of precipitation better change soon or it is going to be a long, hot, dry summer.

hawkeye_wx
We are getting near-blizzard conditions this morning. The snow has been steady and moderate, with likely over an inch. This has been quite a spring storm. 27 hours ago we had lightning and thunder, then a day of steady, soaking rain, and now near blizzard.

I had fun Ive learned over the years that there are very few TRUE blizzards. Quite a few strong storms have blizzard or near blizzard conditions, but very few true blizzards. I see time and time again these NWS offices issue blizzard warnings and when you check the conditions, it does not end up being a blizzard. Many times its not even really close. Locally, the storms of 1999, 2005, and 2015 and Im sure multiple others had the criteria met for snow reducing visibility to 1/4 or less for 3+ consecutive hours, but sustained winds were not 35mph+.

cyclone77
We had teflon snow here today, non-stick. It didn't snow hard enough to overcome the wet/warm ground, so nothing measurable here, or at MLI and DVN. MLI's seasonal snowfall will remain at 6.7". Final rain total here of 1.12"
