Late shift northwest with the snow. Now looks like MSP will get some decent snow with the heaviest falling just southeast of the metro. I still don’t quite believe it but MPX does and issued a winter storm warning for the entire metro.

Trends are definitely in our favor, however I still think there is a brutal cutoff right over the metro. I might get double your totals at the airport versus north burbs.

Always love waking up to the pleasant surprise of a WSW and a blizzard warning one county south.

12z continues the trend. Don’t want to jinx it though by getting my hopes up. Not sure what the 12z hrrr is doing. It takes a weird deviant track with the low.

DVN was considering headlines last night but ended up deferring. 12z guidance so far showing a bit more eastward extension of accumulating snow than previous guidance cycles have. Think even 1-3" results in a high impact event when coupled with gusts of 55-60mph for several hours. Think WWA is the best fit currently but wouldn't be shocked with a game time blizzard warning if the 12z guidance is a bit closer to reality. Curious to see what they end up doing.

Doubly true when you consider that an increase in precip/snow rates will more effectively mix down that monster LLJ.

Two worthless DAB+ events this week will chip into the 3.1" buffer at MLI's futility chase.  Kind of a shame but not surprising.  Hopefully they both underperform like all other systems have this season.  Biggest threat is Thu night/Fri, when 1.5-2" looks possible.

i’m concerned for you.

Started snowing here in town around 3 pm. Starting to collect on the grass, and my deck. Temp at 35, but should lower a bit more as the Sun wanes, and snow cools the air off more. Progged for 1-2", but might do a little better, hopefully.

Little layer of sleet on the grass. Looks like it’s switched to snow now. Might be a little ahead of schedule for the change to snow. Probably won’t add much to our forecast amount.

Here it started changing to sleet around 6 and changed over to mostly snow around 6:30. The ground is already white. Definitely seems quicker then expected.

2" of snow here in town. Still a light snow falling. Yesterday it was changing from snow to white rain, and back as temps were in the mid 30's. Sloppy start to the precip that crusted overnight. Mid 20's now.
