Met1985
Looks like this severe storm potential will blow in here right around midnight on the 16th. Looks like especially the SW mountains will get hammered. Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk

Met1985
This is today's 12z gfs. Doesn't look good at all. Especially for the SW mountains which could get hammered with severe storms.Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk

Model's were showing that for that time period a few days ago along with measurable Snow. Let's see if that comes back. May very well do so.

cold air aloft
The sun has been out a while here in Maggie with occasional strong wind gusts. Hopefully conditions don’t get too severe tonight

What is going on in Mississippi right now is just devastating. It’s going to be a rough time for many in the SE now though tomorrow unfortunately.

Maggie Valley Steve
Looking like we're shifting to a heavy rainfall threat and some gusty winds in the heavier thunderstorms early in the morning. Temperature has dropped to 56 here at the house.
Tyler Penland
May see some flurries up high tonight. The more wraparound potential on Thursday. Winter definitely not done.
Met1985
Yeah tonight looks like some flurries or snow showers will be popping up around midnight but yeah a much colder and snowier push of cold air coming in Thursday. gopack42
I wish I knew how high the winds got up to last night up here. There was a major fire on some slope side condos here at Beech. I think it was a lightning strike. Totally destroyed, but thank goodness it was contained and no injuries. Power went out around 4 am or so I'm guessing and was still off when I left this morning at 10am. Lots of trees down. Wild stuff.

Maggie Valley Steve
No snow flurries in Maggie as far as I know. It's chilly though. The models indicate perhaps a better chance Thursday night for the Mountains and possibly the Valleys. The ensembles suggest we may return to a cold phase next week as well.
