Weatherbell has been using the same color scale for years on their maps in fahrenheit. The maps in Celsius are different and have red starting around 35C

Looks to be the semblance of a warmer / wetter look clouds, multiple chances of rain and mayeb some easterly flow 4/2 - 4/10. Sunyn days will get us there but suspect many cloudy/rain days in that period.

jm1220
NAM still insisting on a faster backdoor tomorrow afternoon makes me nervous for LI. These very often come in stronger and faster than expected. It’s some very chilly air to our north. Might be one of those where we can literally see the stratus deck come in from the east. As long as it holds off until after 4pm I’m fine. I don’t want to be watching my kids sports and go from warmth to cold during their games.

Yeah I have been worried about this all week. I plan on going to the beach tomorrow. From a meteorological perspective it’s pretty awesome. The last time we saw something similar like 4 or 5 summers ago it was accompanied by a gust front that had 50mph gusts and created a sand storm. It felt like an enormous AC had just went on with the near instantaneous 20 degree temp drop. And everything was coming from the east, which is opposite of normal. bluewave
That should be some impressive compressional warming ahead of the backdoor tomorrow. The backdoor probably comes through Suffolk first and then by later in the day closer to NYC. Some spots may go from 80s to 50s in a very short time.

Sundog
The NAM has a NE wind coming in with the backdoor cold front over Long Island Sound and so at 8PM it has temps in the mid 40s in northern Queens while it's still in the low 60s in southern Queens. In 2007 I went to Islip to buy a car from one of those big dealerships and when I left there it was in the mid 40s but when I got home to Queens it was in the mid 70s. Granted it's a bigger distance and a smaller temp gradient but it felt like a completely different time of year from when I left the dealership to when I got home. Yep, many times between Mineola and Lido Beach in April/May it can be 80 in Mineola but 50-55 in Lido.
