59 / 58 some small breaks in the clouds.  Warm still with clouds near / low -  mid 60s.   Light rain / scattered showers till this evening when heavier rain 1 - 1.50 or higher (east) arrives.   Clearing out later Monday and then a warm dry Tue/  Wed.   Period Starting late Thu and Fri the 21 to the 28th looks wet.

1942: A deadly tornado outbreak occurred over the Central and Southern US on March 16-17th. The tornado outbreak killed 153 people and injured at least 1,284. The best estimate indicates this event contained 13 F3 tornadoes, 6 F4s, and one F5. The F5 tornado occurred north of Peoria, Illinois, in the towns of Alta, Chillicothe, before crossing the Illinois River and striking the town of Lacon. A quarter of the homes in Lacon were destroyed, and debris was carried for 25 miles.

1990 - Thunderstorms developing ahead of a cold front produced large hail and damaging winds from northwest Florida to western South Carolina. Thunderstorm winds gusted to 75 mph at Floridatown FL. The afternoon high of 78 degrees at Burlington VT smashed their previous record for the date by 23 degrees. New York City reported a record high of 82 degrees. Unfortunately Friday isn’t looking good. My little cousin has his 1st high school baseball scrimmage on Friday afternoon. Looks like that may be in jeopardy now

Thanks.  Yet according to some nothing to see here.  It has been dry and we need to start turning this around or we will be running into assorted  dryness  issues within 2 months.  Going into the Spring and Summer 9+" down is not a good thing.  Not an issue right now but it will be if this does not start reversing.

March 1990, the heat that just didn't quit....

I'm shocked March 1992 was in the teens this late in the month.

We just need to get near average long term normals not the fake average of the last 20 years or so.

I think most of it was from what I remember. 

Maybe it started as rain, but I can't remember that part. I just remember it was snowy and sleety, lots of sleet, mostly sleet lol

Yeah 1.6" of liquid equivalent fell as sleet. I think the rest rain and very little snow

I remember my stuck doors and not being able to get out for two days lol.

How long did this storm last? I don't remember this as being a 24 hour storm....
