Didn’t realize it was that putrid down there compared to here. I got a +1 on Ditty even with snowpack.

Mid-60s and spring skiing bonanza today.  Even the picnic tables were in the 50s up high under full sun most of the day... warmer at the summits than those CT/RI readings.

How you figure? I got outside , tanned in full PM sun, got entire spring lawn and beds cleanup done while you were  house bound taking pictures of rotting pack under pear trees . That’s a total loss

A solid above normal stretch in progress.

40/23 is the mid-March average, the maximum temps in this forecast will continue to melt the snowpack during an increasingly steep sun angle.  Not one night expected to be below normal in the next 10 days?

Guarantee I was outside in more sun than you yesterday.

I’m a lobster right now.

But damn…the dews overnight are doing a number on the pack. Love it.

Currently 43° but it’s been between 41-50° since midnight.

The downside to a snow pack here which is 15 weeks old is that it includes the remnants of 15 weeks of dog poo.  With every melt day it just reveals more and more.   What truly amazed me is how much dog hair is frozen to the glacier in my lower back yard.  How two labradors can shed this much hair is beyond me!

Instead of mud season.. poop season?

Shut em down?

We are down about 10” at 3,000ft this week to just over 5 feet of depth.

Up near 4,000ft the COOP Stake has been a slightly slower melt, down to 88”.

Its a long slow process this time of year.
