powderfreak
3 hours ago, kdxken said: Looking forward to powder freak's rain stake update. I’ll put the rainfall amounts on the snow report tomorrow, ha. She’s getting wet out there. 21” of SWE in 77” on the core samples at the 3kft. Think we add an inch of water to that by tomorrow afternoon when it should start to flip back to -SN. Saw the Snowbird Utah SNOTEL at 9,100ft is showing 28” of SWE in 81”. Decently more liquid out there for similar depth, which is interesting for a place like Utah.

Milford has .22 so far Ya that is odd in Milford , most reports are .6 to .9” looks like my area is a relative max for now .91” with the heaviest rain due to move in soon. All the local stations I checked in Newtown are at 1.2-1.4” after the squall..

Sure there will be melt and compression, but it’s still a pretty cold and dry pack relatively speaking. It’ll be the cutters to come that do damage. This system is just adding to the potential by dumping some more water into the snowpack.

I see they’re in Woodstock now and that place is like the last to mix out up there. But I have no idea how often they freshen them up when it goes below freezing. SJonesWX
up north in Pittsburg NH snowmobiling for the week. Went from -14 Monday morning to 38 and rain today. Went for a 50 mile ride this morning and got soaked. bailed and started drinking early, and now leaving tomorrow, a day early. Trails are absolutely taking a beating. elevations have over 4 feet of snow and will survive, but down low, forget about it and we’re onto spring.

Yeah, I was contemplating heading to Maine for their free weekend but even though the snow won’t be completely gone the trails likely won’t be worth a long drive. Changes plans and are now heading to Ottawa to catch the Rangers vs the Senators. Not a fan of either team but the NHL is usually entertaining and tickets were pretty inexpensive.
