At the Yankees game-beautiful day but insane home run derby with the wind blowing out.

Yankees have 9 hr, struck out 5 times and made 5 errors.  Their starter got pulled with a 10-run lead and 2 outs in the 5th, one out from getting the win.

Just before 4 we have a patch of blue-ish sky as the sun attempts to peek.

Yeah, 31.3° here and slowly melting off whatever had been accumulating. Hopefully tonight doesn't bring any nonsense - I hate losing power.

We’re losing that dry air supply advecting in. So we’re just latently rotting up toward freezing.

It was super close…we made it to 67-68 here for a short bit just a few miles from you here in Southington.  But then it got pinched off quick and dropped fast by noon.  Just to our SW it was really summertime warm where those areas are in the high 70’s and low 80’s.  Pretty amazing gradient for sure.

Ah, yes, Southington is very close, I was down there some yesterday. Hard to believe there was such a sharp temperature difference between here and there!

29.6F  Nothing falling at the moment.   My daytime high was 30.1F.  Most of our precipitation was snow last night and sleet this morning, mixed with quite a bit of freezing rain late morning and midday.  So the ice accretion is still on the trees and has not dripped off.  The ice accumulations seem to start around my elevation of 1100 feet.  The trees down below me seem mostly ice free.

Below are 2 photos.  The White Pines are drooping a little but no big deal.  It will be interesting to see what happens with the next round of precipitation.  I'm glad last night's couple of inches of snow was dry enough that it did not cling to branches.

tree just came down on neighbors property.  We got about an inch of snow then the fzn rain before some light snow midday.  Pines are saggy. Not much going on now but an ice storm warning for tonight/tomorrow.  I'll be surprised if we keep power.

LGA went from 79 to 48 in an hour and most of that happened in less than 30 minutes.  Pretty wild stuff.

I'm more impressed with the 85 high at EWR and it's still 82 there right now.  That's got to be record territory for March.

Newark is down to around 55, temp collapsed in the past 20 or so minutes.
