It occurs pretty similarly from upstate NY through VT, NH and ME.  I think VT just often gets the headlines due to the large number of dirt roads over large areas... maybe?  I dunno, maybe it's just that it's close to more population so we hear about it more than the rural ADK, western ME, N.NH areas?

The best mud-season content though usually comes out of VT for sure.

Mud season in full force here...the dog is muddy and wet. I had to pull a dukes of hazard maneuver to get into my driveway. Perfect ice fishing weather. Some ding ding thought they were going to drive their pick-up onto the ice to pull out their Bob house. Front tires went right through the ice. He was lucky he was able to reverse out of his dumb idea. Got my first sunburn of the season yesterday out on the ice. Bonus- got to watch a pair of bald eagles making a nest. Caught a few rainbows. Now I have the the window open in my bedroom. Super windy, though. Scattered power outages with branches and a few trees down

Mud season gets pretty bad out here.  Lots of dirt roads, driveways and parking lots.

I believe Franklin Co has more miles of dirt roads than anywhere else in MA.  We live on the paved end of Green River Rd but my kid's best friend is up in E Colrain on the unpaved section and the next week or so will be super sketchy driving up there.  A road too narrow for cars to pass comfortably at speed with a 20'- 80' drop down to the river on one side.  It's the soft mud ruts that are the most dangerous.  They can pull an AWD car pretty suddenly this time of year.

So much water in the yard the last day or so.  A good waterfall coming down the retaining wall too.  I spent most of yesterday afternoon shovelling/pushing water onto the paver drive as it was backing up into the garage.  Fortunately around dinner it started draining on its own before the rain hit.

I have noticed for about the past 10 days or so that even if its only in the 40s outside, I have put my AC on low in the car due to the solar insolation being so strong...couldn't help by think of Tip and laugh.
