It kind of reminded me of a mid July day out there will all the moisture hanging in the air and the clouds racing across the sky ahead of the next storm system, minus about 25 degrees in temps and 15 in dews. Perhaps a sign of good things to come? :sun:

Yep, I noticed that too during my walk earlier. I thought my ears were deceiving me until getting a little closer to the source. Thought they arrived at least a couple weeks later but maybe it’s one of those years they return a little sooner? Very cool to see either way.

It’s amazing outside. How can you call it gross? And as the shoulder seasons disappear, everyone will join the sandbar.

I think it's pretty gross outside on the whole, but that's just the water logged snow, deep mud, filthy snowbanks and moist warmth.  Anywhere the lawn is exposed, you sink down like 2" walking on it, footprints filled with water immediately.  The driveway is 6-8" deep mud ruts.  It's kind of gross as a whole, lol.

We don’t ever get mud season in SNE. It just basically quickly dries out no matter wet or dry winter. That phenomenon seems to he reserved mainly for VT . Weird how that state is so much more susceptible

Nothing close to that. Southern wind sings again an island lullaby.

It occurs pretty similarly from upstate NY through VT, NH and ME.  I think VT just often gets the headlines due to the large number of dirt roads over large areas... maybe?  I dunno, maybe it's just that it's close to more population so we hear about it more than the rural ADK, western ME, N.NH areas?

The best mud-season content though usually comes out of VT for sure.

I think it’s the number of dirt roads we have. We have more miles of dirt/gravel than paved.

The pack wipe will be ahead of 2024 by tomorrow if we’re not there already…season to date, that is…

Another really tough year for the skiiing  locations, outside of a maybe a handful of spots north of the wall.

It’s been one of the better ski seasons yet.
