Last summer went full on gorgeous at mid August…sunny warm(upper 70’s) and dry for 3 months. Other than the lack of rain.. it was perfect.

Not disagreeing with what you say, but unless I'm remembering incorrectly ( and that could be a distinct possibility) last summer did not seem terrible at least as far as temps compared to the few before. For me I still think summer 2018 was THE worst as far as combination of extended heat along with high dews. It could be simply because it was a memorable summer for me preparing for my wedding in September, however the weather just seemed terrible and broke just in time for our outdoor wedding. Only time in my life I've ever felt the effects of heat stroke or whatever you call it. Feeling dizzy and shaking uncontrollably... It Came Upon me out of nowhere. NOT a fun experience

I like it more and more. Summer as it should be and it only gets warmer since we are melting away the permafrost and basically cold fronts are more like a dryline.

I like dry summers for keeping the mosquitoes at bay but it's just really boring if you want some convection to track or a rogue tropical

My favorite summer weather is 85/55  ...which doesn't allow for a lot of wiggle room, nor likeliness, no.  But the sideways sun shine of late afternoon through 7pm after an afternoon of 87/55 ... when there is a light breeze is pure splendor

I remember days back in the 80s when we would have occasional days in the mid 70s to low 80s and low dews, often accompanied by a decent NW breeze.

Yeah I'll take just this side of hot days and 48 to 52° nights all day in august! Great way to extend the best outdoor season known as fall, unless you're a snowmobiler of course

I went to newfound lake 3rd week of August and it as cloudy and rained everyday except 1 and then didn’t rain for 3 months after that. Figures

The home owner in me is ready for winter to be done down here.  My driveway is a nightmare, ice dams, and heating costs starting to drive me crazy. The skier in me wants winter to go on forever!

So you are into temperature concerns...  word.

I'm sick of this, "convective debris by 1 pm in 78 DPs, with thunder boomin away always somewhere else  ..."   and it's penetrative warm wetness that seems to even get into your bed it is so inundating - if you don't have sufficient hvac methods .

It's like we get this weakness in the 500 mb height field - I think it's related to these unbearable record hot heat domes going on over western N/A, more and more so in summers. It is causing the flow to physically/necessarily sink in latitude over the eastern continent - in the means.   Sure, it won't be all the time, but is however the base-line super synoptic rest state.  The flow is SE over VA, S over PA, and that pools in New England. That means like Scott was saying ...we seem to more and more end up with high DPs, which of course is true... There's no seems about - regardless of cause, we are getting persistent DP anomalies.   This then inimically leads to +cloud anomalies and basically ...  NOT getting the 84/55, WNW breezy, nostalgic summer types.

One thing I'll agree on, my body is starting to hate the cold now that I'm in my '50s. I also love sitting outside And just taking in what's going on in the woods around our house. So there's that too. I guess you got a point there about the warmer weather lol. But I don't think I'll ever stop loving the idea of the big storms in the winter.

Of course not. But It's getting old regarding how stressful and frustrating this season has become. Winter is too long for this shit.

Second half of summer was incredible last year. Fall was picture perfect. And winter this year was winter. Wish we had a big storm or two…but it’s been a good winter as far as temps and retention, for most all the season.

It’s been a zero return hobby here since Jan 22. Tough to devote time to it only to be burned time and time again.

We had an epic stretch centered around 2015, but we are now doing the opposite of that the last 3 years

Seems to be more prevalent when it’s a snow event. We had a couple of epic prolonged Rainers last March.

The compression isn't as prevalent an issue in the spring because the PV is lifting out and decaying.

Spring adjust the wavelengths as the seasonal change causes them to get wonky, and you can certainly get a large event of rain or snow.

Yeah that was spectacular. Don’t get me wrong—still like a good winter—but it’s easily fall, summer, spring, and winter in my order of enjoyment.
