Apparently a fellow Carolina grad I know sacrificed a loss to state tonight. While I’m so excited about the snow, that’s a stupid Carolina fan.

I just read they are opening the Dean Dome to anyone without a ticket due to the difficult travel conditions. It will be loud with mostly drunk students! I live 5 miles west of the 40/85 split which is basically at a standstill due to all the accidents otherwise I would go. Go Heels!!!

That’s awesome to hear! I gave our four tickets to my good friend who lives in Greensboro, and she said she can’t make it. They’re lower level, so I hope some students will take advantage of them and go crazy! Go Heels!!!

Crossed 3” but it’s lighter now. Heavier returns lining up again. 4” is the expectation now

What a difference a mile makes...I'm 1 mile east of NH (near Wegmans) and have barely 2.0" wherever I measure! Max may be 2.0". Bout to take a walk to NH lol

3" now at a cozy 24.4°F.

As of about 15 minutes ago - at least 30-40% of what is falling is now graupel (I don't think it's quite sleet), perhaps as the DGZ is slowly drying out. Not sure. Beautiful wintry day though. Best in many years.

Either big fat flakes or sleet.

I had about 1 hour and 20 minutes of pure sleet. It's back to snow sleet mix now, hence the bright banding, but that did a number on the weight of the nearly 4 inches that fell just before it flipped. I tried to move some of it out of the driveway and it was pure cement.

It’s really tapered off here.  I’m close to the Chatham county line. Radar looks like it’s about to the end unless it backfills.

Back edge seems to be just about through now.
