RIC is starting to trend a bit better as of late runs. No it won’t be a MECS or anything remotely close but if we get 4-6 inches as my (likely and very possible) last snow storm here in Virginia after 30 years of life I’ll gladly take it. I remember being so young and getting storms and the snow would last on the ground for a week or two. Especially in the early 00s. Maybe it’s because I was only 3 feet - 4 feet tall but man I remember the days I could sled for DAYS with my buddies.

This is where that last minute north trend will do wonders for RIC (and could make a difference in EZF).  If I was a betting man, I’d say RIC gets over 5” from this.  Have fun man!

Not even close to the same set up, but December 2018 comes to mind. This won’t be close to that around EZF, but 2” seems a possibility.

My memory sucks so I have no clue what storm that is but I’d be kind of surprised if EZF doesn’t clear 2”.  I’m an idiot though so take that with a grain of salt.

A few models have us getting a bit more but I’ll take what we can get. Every system has been snow to sleet to rain so far. If we can get an all snow 2-4 inches I’ll be happy.

December 2018 was 6” inches EZF, 11.5” inches RIC and 14 flakes at DCA. Just continually bumped north last 24-36 hours.

@Bob ChillGFS is SOLID for us! Believable tho?

Kuchera is going big on ratios. 10-1 is 2-4 and in line with most other guidance.  I'd say qpf is very believable. Not sure about 15:1 but if high ratios are going to happen, column is as good as it gets. Flakes gotta be big and fluffy. Ive seen totals end up low with cold storms before when snow growth is weak and flake quality is closer to sand than pillows. Time will tell

We will live to fight again troops.  Our time is not now...but it will be.   God bless you all

Randy thank you for making my winter on Friday when you posted the over joyed amazed astonished Beethoven avatar.  That avatar saved my sanity in a winter that has not produced only 12.83” here in southeast pa with drought conditions continuing.

Hopefully we will see it again friend.

Yep, been on both ends of that. Last storm was the pillows, but on a different type of set-up. Over half-dollar sized flakes fell for close to two hours, 5 inches plus. Just 15-20 miles south they were in sleet.
