It’s nothing to do with the supposed inability of DC/Baltimore drivers to drive in the snow. It’s very cold and a quick coating can result in sheets of ice on plenty of surfaces as cars drive on the powder and compress it.

That explains why we didn’t get the WWA. We don’t have that problem here because our horses and wagons don’t slide on snowy roads.

This seems right...there was a whole discussion here yesterday about a super crippling 1" snow in cold temps (DC area I think, forgot year)
