Too late to prevent damage. I think the heliport in Manhattan made 50. It's raining ice off the branches now here in Wantage and glad we have had the 70 MPH gusts, at least not yet. May take quite a while to get power back once its off, due crews spread a little thin in the many east coast states where power is out. This may be my last post for a day if we lose power. There is no weather I hate more than wind. Lost power and heat last night but it was back after a couple of hours. High winds are so absolutely useless. A plane that small and with the wind and ground conditions should have no place it attempting to land in that. CRJ-700.

I went to go see it shortly after it happened. We got like 30" in the past 7 days and there's been a lot of blowing snow today with winds around 40mph. From what I saw when I was there, it looked like it flipped over shortly after touching down suggesting a slippery runaway combined with strong winds. Glad everyone on board got out safe.

I saw one of the wings and the tail section came off-- they actually said that was a good thing as it prevented an explosion and a larger fire from happening.
