Based on how the winter has gone, even that much may not be in the cards this time around. Long Beach had 10-11” of paste on 3/21/18 and 6” on 4/2/18. I know that’s a once in a couple decade scenario but we both know what a snow pit that area is. It was 2003 but snow accumulated perfectly fine in the city on 4/8/03. It’s a matter of getting the heavier rates overhead and temps below 32 if possible.

I remember 4/8/03; they let us out early from my school job; it came down quick and the lillies were blooming already. Somewhere I have pictures of my son, now 27, and my bundled up baby girl, now 22. I believe those were the happiest days of my life. At 62, everything hurts already, the kids are adults and can be surly, the wife is also in pain most of the time....enjoy your younger years. What's good about being older? Yes that was one of my favorite storms of all time, full day time snow 8 inches here, I enjoyed that more than any of the March snows, which seem to underperform for some reason, a great end to a great season in 2003. April 2018 was my favorite storm that season after the January 2018 blizzard but for some reason JFK undermeasured that storm, we had 6 inches here too. I think JFK and NYC both measured 8 inches in that March 2018 storm so I just go by their numbers, that was mixed precip for awhile before it switched to snow. Sun angle is only a problem when it’s light and temps are marginal. Agreed - 1/3rd of the winters since 2000 out here (using BNL data) have seen more snow in March than February. I'd prefer it in January when its more likely to stick around but March can still be productive for seasonal totals.

We get some snows too, usually smaller amounts, but even 4-6 inches would seem like a major snowstorm this season.

I remember one of my favorite March snows was in 1996 when we had 7 inches of snow, it snowed all night and most of the morning. Around 1 pm the sun came out and the temperature rose into the 50s and there was absolutely no wind-- there's nothing better than that!

We had a storm in Feb 93 like that; pretty decent snow and temps soared the next day; we did not have the day off because it was an inner city school and at that time, they just didn't have snow days. They would, a few weeks later, when the ice encrusted super sleet storm dumped 11 inches of concrete on us. Closed for 3 days.....

I remember something was different about that winter even before the superstorm, we started getting more frequent snows than we had had in a few years. People consider March 1993 the superstorm, but for my money the real superstorm of that season was December 1992. It completely dwarfed March 1993 for the amount of damage it caused, its hurricane force wind speeds, surge flooding and lasting for 3 days! Too bad it wasn't snow here until the very end, a three day blizzard like that would easily have beaten all snowfall records!!
RU848789
Latest RAP saves us, lol, although it is interesting to note that the meso models are a bit more bullish for the Philly-NYC area (1/2-1" for most) than the globals (0-1/2" for most. 1/2" would be nice, but so would an overperforming 1", given how this storm has turned out.

I'll take the 1.5-2.0 stripe it puts over my house, the snowpack needs a little freshening up. Doubt it happens though. DC and CapeMay looked like locks for this storm no matter what happened. Well "what" happened and they're getting shutout similar to us.

Bxstormwatcher360 Posted yesterday at 12:07 AM Share Posted yesterday at 12:07 AM Some of the sr models seem to be focused on a band of snow developing right along the boundry, since the ull cant really go north. The best forcing might be around this area and moving east.
