The pack here is going to be a complete glacier after this event.

It’s already a glacier. Add 3-6” with sleet on top, a little ZR, some cold rain and a quick refreeze…piles could become pretty impressive despite the fact we haven’t had an event over 6” all season.

You haven't had over 6? Not even in december?

What storm would’ve given over 6” here?

Had exactly 6” in the 1/19-1/20 event. Clipper in Dec gave 6”+ to ORH but not where I am. I was a bit too far east.

Local stations down here still have ice around the state at 7:00 am Sunday besides the shoreline. Seems on the colder side no? From what I saw this morning we switch to rain way before that, no?

Going into this weekend, I was hoping for several things (I'm skiing at Mt. Snow Sat-Mon)

- Continuation of no rain to maintain pristine base (FAIL)

- If things did get icy (which they will on Friday), snow starting early enough Saturday to soften things up (looking like a FAIL)

- An all or mostly snow event (FAIL)

- Not having to ski through sleet on Sunday (probable FAIL)

- No wind holds Monday (FAIL)

If you told me I'd be up there to experience a 9-15" event, you'd think I'd be ecstatic but I'm pretty bummed about how things look to develop.  Hoping we get a few more cold tics and perhaps an earlier start Saturday.

Couple of medical calls up at the mountain already, not looking good up here, currently 34 and rain at the base. Power situation on Sunday it looks doubtful.

GYX thinks we get a minimum of 6 in the was burst overnight.  Good snow growth

Yeah idk. 6” seems like the ceiling for me. Throw some sleet on top for additional, but I’m in the 5-8” SN/PL camp.

* Question! One our accounts is a funeral home, just notified family arrives Sunday 2pm, calling hours 3-7pm

At that time snow over? (possibly 4-5" ASH) or sleet, and if rain are we talking torrential? Just wondering about applying product, or we flipping back to sn~ as this pulls away.

AGREE, snowbanks will become boulders!

It looks like plain rain even to PSM by 12z tomorrow.

I still don’t understand why the guidance is so cold in eastern sections, directly down stream of these strong and persistent easterly winds.

Rain at PSM at 12z?

Probably because of the reason I was below freezing the other day with SE winds. Airmass.
