Hasn't everyone explained it? Between QPF and lack of good winds advecting in some lower Tds, not sure how much damage they'll be.

It’s also not a frigid airmass temps will be between 30-32.. the classic damaging ice storms have temps in the low to mid 20s then max out in the upper 20s with temps crashing after. This one temps will be just below freezing during the peak freezing rain then climb above freezing melting the ice before the winds later Sunday. Temps will stay below freezing if you are near and north of Rt 2 but by that latitude there will be more sleet.

It will not get above freezing interior CT with this look . We’ve all seen enough of these to know how they play out

You guys are so mean to Kevin

Lol .. kind of asks for it himself. Tends to really overdo the winds being destructive and these possible ice storms being crippling. Fortunately, they rarely ever do any of that ( And quite frankly, I don't want any kind of destructive ice storm. He can have it in his town on his block ).

Yes we’ve seen plenty of sub 985 lows cutting into Albany and know what happens south of there. If the secondary can pop early enough and stay south of CT then it’ll be close..

Except 2008, lol. I think I was at about 30-31F for 90% of that event. But we had very good dewpoint advection in that one. Like 15-20 knot northeast sustained. It was also a QPF bomb with like 3” of liquid.

Lol ya we will maybe get a 1/4 to a 3/4 inch qpf as freezing rain this time.. 18z euro likes NW CT into West Mass for ground zero.

The PV has ticked west on every run since 00z last night. If that trend doesn’t reverse at 00z tonight I don’t think this is going to be all that interesting outside the front end.  Primary hanging on into upstate NY is a killer.

We will have as nice glacier fairly region wide next week. What a shame though to not get any kind of accumulating snow with that kind of man cold. And what a base to add on.... well I will keep hope alive for a miracle.

If you think about it. We all already have one with 3-8” in SNE otg now. And there’s several layers of ice in there , and some dense snow. Barring some heinous screamer .. this is the first time in many years that we will have good pack in SNE into the early part of Morch .

i don't want ZR, I'll take a scalping all day over that crap, never understood why anyone would want a crippling ice storm, no power, can't go anywhere, but looks pretty on trees is about it, hoping to avoid that and stay white with pellets at best here...
