Some of the strongest gusts I’ve had in a long time just came through.  Reports of trees down on my street.

It’s relatively tame MBY (I mean, it’s gusty, and the pines are rattling) but it sounds like an absolute freight train 1000 feet above my head.   Absolute thunderous roars that we can hear in the living room with the TV on.

Ya know I as Always, ask a Serious Question on here, and NO ONE Answers.  Everyone just BS's and jokes at me.  ESPEICLALY after one of the Worst Days in my Weather Life.  Maybe #1, since at Least in the Fujiwawa of 2013, I didn't do Nearly the worst.

Again - If we All in that Red and Yellow Blotch of the radar, which was Huge, got Thunder, Did Anyone get ThunderSleet or ThunderSnow in that when it came across SNW?

Do you ever stop whining

Do you ever START Understanding that I had arguably the Worst Day in my Weather Life and almost 100% of the Rest of you had an Overperforming day and I have to Sit Here and Read everyone else playing in the Snow?  And Every Facet of this storm, EVERY One, is Positive for you guys, and negative for me?  And the Real Hell starts Tomorrow when everything is going to cut everyone's tires since no one could shovel?

Do you also understand I haven't seen 12" of snow here in 6 Years??  Stop Bit*hing at my Bi*ching.  I have not even seen a 6" Storm in 3 freaking years.

For everyone measuring ice today…

IMG_4612.jpeg

Seems like everyone (and spotters) is measuring radial ice but are the ASOS reports just flat ice? If that's the case aren't we comparing apples and oranges on reports? I mean flat ice is what more than double that of radial ice on branches? According to this radial ice only 39% of elevated flat ice.

Yeah, I’m driving around Warwick RI tomorrow and I’m concerned about icy road hazards.

First, I hear Geoff Bensen from ABC6 describe the roads tomorrow morning as “ice rinks”:

https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1345632766472128&id=1345632766472128

That’s a dramatic characterization and can lead to rash decisions like telling my boss I might need to stay home (which I did). I don’t know why he’d use that phrase if there wasn’t a serious concern for safety due to ice.

Then I get confused by this graph:

IMG_9623.thumb.jpeg.dfc0712934ba7cdf03aff10c34cb6360.jpeg

Does this mean only the highlighted major roadways will have .25 to .5” of ice? Or that all roadways in the surrounding areas of the highlighted roadways?

Sorry everyone still a newbie to this discipline.

I got 10.5" in 19-20, 8.9" in 22-23 and 16" last season and i average like 41..trust me we're all in the same boat. Last time i saw a 12" storm was 2021...4 years ago. Those are more rare than people think...we were spoiled in the 2010s, getting like 1 or 2 a year. Even the 00s...

Move.

I’m 350’ up, quietly in the woods, an hour from Boston.  Jackpotted the All Holy Blizzard of 1978, Jackpotted March 2019 as well, got over 100” in 2004-2005, and 2014-2015, had snow on the ground from December 26 to April 15 in 2002-2003, and have gotten 24”+ 7 times since 1992.  IT’S FINE.

I have just been getting Completely Screwed recently.  In Every Which Way Possible.

Yep I feel you. Season has that winding down look on guidance. Back broke after this week. We’re almost out of prison. Easy for others to laugh and say move when they’re  balls deep in snow.

PWM 05z -
2.8"/0.30" new
Total - 9.4"/1.41" - depth 21"
-SN 21.3°
Overperformer here, deep winter.  Deepest at the stake in (my) 4 seasons for PWM.
Nice. Surprised you pulled off over 9". It was pretty pedestrian here. Most fell by noon and grabbed maybe 1/2" last night for 6" total.
