32.7 is my high temperature today in Simsbury , so far, and I am tickling back down. We have a quarter inch of ice. I don't have much experience with zr since I'm from coastal mass, but it appears to be a decent event considering over 25k have lost power. I'm curious to see what happens once the winds increase.

It isn’t typical sleet.  It very teeny sleet and other stuff mixed in

Yeah,  lots of small sleet pellets and a good amount of snow grains. I'm going to guess and say my visibility is only 1/2 to 3/4 miles but it is because of the snow grains.  When I flip I will definitely post.

Temp stuck at 19.3F

Pretty impressive wedge…getting the snow crystal development below the inversion, but no lift to grow the crystals beyond the grain stage.

At least it looks like the heaviest stuff is just about over there.

The refreeze will be an issue. So much water cascading down streets/ yards etc. ground is frozen.

Once that back edge gets to me I’m sprinting outside to move the slush.

I'm dreading it, actually.

Not much melt that I can see (but haven't ventured outside).

I took my first walk around the neighborhood. My first impression as that we were lucky we got over 32 when we did. This would've been a pretty severe ice storm if the freezing rain had persisted another few hours. One neighbor lost a large tree onto his house. It was obviously diseased, but even so you don't see a 5' diameter trunk snapped off at the base all that often. The white pines by the NHCC took a beating as well. There were several houses with severed power connections. I do wonder what the wind will do if the ice doesn't melt before the cold sets back in.
