This one is broken now: https://aviationweather.gov/metar It just shows up on RadarScope periodically as a spotter report. Very interesting to see some places have their temp drop. While Bridgeport is still rain, Groton dropped from 36 and rain to 32 with zr. https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=Kgon# Edit: also measured 2.3” of snow here before the changeover.

dendrite
Some of the hires models had temps dropping down along the S Coast at this time before warming after 12z. So I’m not sure this is a big deal yet. We’ll see.

I cleared the driveway just as it was transitioning to ice around 1am and measured 5. We are one of the higher points in town. I am used to leaving the house and getting into the center of town and it's always 25% less.

Yeah it’s nice to not torch right now, but the rubber meets the road in a few hours when the NAM has HFD reach above freezing at about 14z and HRRR has 32 until 19z.
