Washington, DC has received 4"  or more snow for the second time this winter. The last time that occurred was during Winter 2014-2015.

That’s pretty sad! But nice that it happened.

snowing at a decent clip but not impressive as the 5-8pm timeframe. Plows have won back the main roads. Assuming I’ll claw my way to 6” but everything is compacting so I’ll have to rely on spotters.

Hmmm.. I am in Elliott city and I am 3.5 already. I am really surprised you have gotten to 3 yet.  Is it temp issues? Looks like plenty of returns down there

Temps are fine, just not enough QPF - the cutoff is real and it's sharp.

Silver lining - not gonna bother to shovel with the rain and torch that's on the way.

The models that showed a stonewall at the M/D line nailed it. Looks like snow should continue through at least 2 AM for dc / Baltimore and points east. Still a long train of moisture to our SW.

One thing I noticed that Frederick does well is finding a way to get at least a slice of most storms that are either too far north or south.  Light snow continues...streets are caving.  Delayed and mostly denied...but not completely.

So I am way up in northern hoco md and it has been steady light snow all day and we managed to break 3.. there wasn’t so much of a cutoff around here it was more gradual. Where are you located?
