You can pretty much tell based on radar orientation that the line between steadier heavier snow and lighter intermittent snows is gonna set up somewhere right along the fall line. Which is generally what models peg too. I just hope I get into that steadier heavier line. My bar is 3”. I think I could get to 4 or 5 though

...RAPIDLY DETERIORATING CONDITIONS FOR THE EVENING COMMUTE...

Moderate to heavy snow will overspread the area by 5 PM and
continue through this evening. Snowfall rates around 1 to 2 inches
per hour are expected. The heavy snow will combine with falling
temperatures and rapidly stick on all surfaces during the evening
commute. If you are travelling, drive slowly and leave plenty of
distance between you and the vehicle in front of you. Be prepared
for snow covered roads.

Soundings are impressive…saturated in the -10 to -20 layer indicating strong forcing and lift in the dendritic snow growth region. Expect efficient rates and fast caving of roads after sunset for most areas. Wouldn’t be surprised to see that 6-8” line coming north a jog. Areas south of town esp Warrenton, Gainesville east may hit 8-12 in a narrow band if sleet line doesn’t push north.
