Worth bringing up because this isn't all too far fetched at this point. Listed are all the 5"+ snowfalls at DCA during 21st century La Niñas. The last La Niña to feature 2+ snows above 5 inches was 95-96 (3 instances), so the slight chance of DCA not DCAing today would have this winter be the first in nearly 30 years to join that club.

This is my first time working at the office at my current job on a day that it starts snowing later. I wish my job made an announcement beforehand, but they did not, so here I am.

Rush hour should be fun. Snow will be falling, but not too heavy.

This is our first RTO week. Telework revoked totally. No ad hoc. So now they are shooting themselves in the foot with this snow. Its funny.

HRRR looks better. Im happy.

Had to drive into Columbia for work...probably gonna head home during lunch.  I have absolutely zero interest in being on 70 during rush hour.

Latest NAM looks acceptable.

This is what Mr J. is going to do. He works in Rockville and I told him to take my car just in case. His MX 5 would not be ideal with slippery roads.

The HRRR has been getting colder each run. Sleet line looks to stay south of CHO until at least midnight now. It came through around 9/10pm on some earlier runs this morning.

30/27, moderate snow, ~1" on the ground so far

Good stuff, I'm thinking 6-9" for CHO on this one!

Oof I didn't even think about you all (assuming fed) and the ones who will be dealing with DC traffic this afternoon on a day everyone should be WFH regardless.

He'll be glad when he's out for the summer at a normal time.

I thought the new policy started to add distance learning days - or was that another county.

Anyway - for obs - 33.4 here in Colesville right now. Glad it's not surging to 40 yet.

I still think every northern county school system in Maryland made a horrible call to close early, and maybe every county DC north.

I no longer have children in FCPS MD but going off of prior afternoon start times of snow, even with a lower chance up here today, we have in the past had busses go off the mountain roads. Also even with a 3.5 hr early dismissal it still counts as a full day of instruction. So as long as they made the parents happy I think they will be fine with their decision.
