The best part about this winter is DCA finally learned how to measure snow. Their measurements are finally close to those in the area.

Apparently IAD hired there old crew. They reported 4.9 at 1030 and reported 4.9 at 1 am.  But .5-1 inched fell between those hrs.

As of now I have 3.5 inches... Which in my eyes is an overperformer.  I do not think I will get much from snow just to my west.

I have 3.5", too. 2.5" yesterday, without any clearing, so I'm sure compacted. Cleared before going to sleep and another inch this morning. I saw T. August post 3.7" so some E-W consistency.

Latest spotter reports…

https://www.weather.gov/lwx/pnsmap?type=snow

Looks like the Gfs and Nam were generally overdone north of dc. Looking at a few runs leading up to the event, the euro and Canadian kept the 0.5” precip line closer to dc. Not sure of final qpf here, but I imagine it was closer to 0.3” than 0.5”.

@WxUSAF that Norrisville spotter strikes again. Reported 2.4” last night!! No way. I had 1.2 when I went to bed at 11.

I too was JUST checking what the Norrisville slantsticker reported lol!

It’s wild. I didn’t even get to 1” until after 8, and they reported 2.4” in the 9pm hour. Just no way.

We have the identical total, which is always reassuring lol. Properly cleared I had 3.7”, with 3.4-3.5” depth currently. Very little compaction.
