If the 1-2’/hr rates lasted just another 1-2hrs, we’d all be well within forecast totals. It was modeled well on the soundings, but models are always too juicy when the DGZ dries out. I did think the thump would be better here along with the Atlantic inflow. Haven’t looked out yet. We bed.

LSC97wxnut
Eyeballing around 4". Maybe we can get a little more from that band as it rotates southward. Not quite an outright bust as 4-8 was the P&C forecast yesterday, but still disappointing to be on the low end.

No issues with overflow . My flags are gone too. Was just looking where I can buy more. ACE has them. Will need to put them through the drill holes on the boards. I think it's only the second time since 2018 that the flag has been buried. I can't recall being over 15" on the ground all that often. Maybe my memory is still there. I checked CoCoRaHS and I have December 2020 (20"), March 2023 (18"), and today (19") as my only snow depths over 15".

It thumped good initially, but it went to hell quickly once the DGZ dried out and the DGZ was wayyy up there around H5-6. You could almost see the line setting up along the S NY/N PA border where in NY you were getting the fronto banding and in PA it was more ragged and showery…and that all translated east quickly. GFS has lately been overly juicy too. Looks like it was 1.5-2x too high on QPF in some parts of CT. Soundings were pretty dry above H700 if I remember correctly. Should have been a red flag?
