Well this going to be a bust of epic proportions here. Massive dry slot in MO going to end snow very early. Snow quality has been minimal as well. I will be shocked if we get 1-2in. This winter can piss right off. Have a feeling weekend storm gunna end up more north now because of limited snow pack laid down now.

Yeah, my expectations were low - the app I use has been predicting 2-3" for Peoria since Monday - but when I saw it was only predicting 1" this morning, I had to laugh. So many people online mad about school/business closings about now, heh. But whatever, life goes on. If it's not 6+" I'd prefer as little as possible anyway.

The app's been predicting 1.5-2" for the weekend, due to the rain mix, so I'm not expecting much there either. The last decade has really killed all my enthusiasm for winter. Peoria just doesn't do winter like it used to. Our kids haven't gone sledding in at least three years, whereas I used to go sledding all the time growing up.

These past 3 winters have been brutal for snow in the Peoria area. This winter sure takes the cake though. It's crazy how many times all models have agreed on a big dog a few days out or less, only to fall apart last second.

The snow falling now is dense pixie dust. I'll be lucky to get over an inch where I live. The winter storm warning headlines add insult to injury lol

I have a nice vantage point on my route on the southwest side of the city. Neat seeing the distance disappear as the snow got closer. Flakes size has been really good here to be honest. Every flake is sticking. Hopefully we can squeeze out an inch or two out of this whole mess. Regardless, I always enjoy seeing snow.

EDIT: I see LOT updated and said snow quality south of I88 is poor, which of course is not true here right now.

feel like models, esp the hrrr, had been advertising a less than impressive turd duster for a while

True. Just seemed like the were (or we hoped they were) the outliers.

The season #1 bar isn't hard to reach at 2.2", but dont feel good about getting there with radar trends are poor rates right now. Sitting at .5"

Shaping up to be even worse of an event than anticipated, has started snowing here but that back edge of the snow is already into Illinois, likely won’t get within the 2-4” forecasted range

Hrrr has some hope with deformation band filling in later as upper energy approaches and sfc low pulls away. I'm skeptical but we shall see.

Last few winters have been rough. Either getting missed or last second downtrend.

They finally downgraded us to WWA. This is definitely a terrible bust. Hoping hrrr is right about snow filling in later.
