these maps and forecasts from okx and box are all over the place. if you didnt know any better or just like the general public you could get anything from 4-6", 4-7", 5-9" 8-12" for the same location! whether you click on the watch, the pc, the zone, or the 2 different maps they have. they gotta fix their messaging, its crazy.

And the watch for NYC/LI for 2-4 doesnt make sense

Good callout. 8-12” in New Haven and 3-6” in my area has never happened in my 54 years lol

Actually it has…I can give you an example…January blizzard in 2016.  New Haven got croaked, and Tolland got fringed.  So it does happen from time to time. But it won’t with sat/sun.

Was that the year we called “southwest ct winter”? I guess there was that one case…

It was. I actually liked that Winter despite it being a complete ratter for most. 40" of snow, which is about my normal. 2 10"+ snowstorms and one of them was an all daytime blizzard.

Well got the opportunity to dig deep into the details for Saturday into Sunday. Ultimately, one concern I have for higher totals is just the forward speed and the duration the best lift/maximized snow growth is. I could end up seeing some 7-10" amounts possible though but not widespread enough to map and that will be tied into very localized areas of enhanced lift.

Nice lift in the DGZ for that 18Z EC run. Ill have to crack open bufkit for the first time this season now that we have something actually worth looking at. From the AFDs and what ive seen it looks like theres pretty strong lift inside the DGZ and good 700 fronotogensis which should provide 12-15:1 ratios at times for this one during the height of it.
