We have multiple sh$t winters in a row, and a good chunk of this winter has sucked, and now we are entering a wonderfully looking pattern and this thread becomes a crap show. Will every storm be a powder-fest? NO! It's never been the case. It's almost always about mixture and transition zones, jackpots or screw zones. That's what 99% of our good winters are like. Just enjoy the friggin pattern!!! So true…folks are f’n nuts. Thanks John for putting things into perspective, and keeping it really real.

mahk_webstah
I kind of feel like this storm will come back to what we were looking at three or four days ago. What I mean by that is maybe another tick north but not too much further. And something that’s more like 4 to 12 inches broadly across the region. Most will be 6 to 10. I don’t know if the ratios and Snow growth look as good as they did a few days ago, but that was a bit of a wild card in our favor at least initially. it’s hard to grapple with the other systems in the pipeline because we have so many. Most of the energy now is on Sunday, but we really should have a thread for Tuesday and one for Thursday Friday and then one for the weekend. All of those are potentially very impactful.

Yesterday everybody was up in the sky today. They're freaking out like there's a apocalypse coming. Regardless of what happens, it is what it is. Taking the NAM and running with it at the moment is very silly. Not that it doesn't have any impact on what's going to happen with Saturday night's storm, but the other larger models are still looking like they are a go with the storm for our area. Let's see where the 12z shows and go from there. But man, stop the freak out people! New here? /S 1
weathafella
I think 4-8 as a general rule with some spots picking up 8+. Tuesday night is viable still considering today is 108 hours out still. The VDay system should be juicy. Anyone who stays all snow with that will have a pile by next weekend!

No man I'm not that new LOL. I've been on here for several years. I just don't have the same knowledge as some of these guys. I listen and ask questions. But what I have learned is the amount of people who pounce on you. If you don't ask the right question, or the meltdowns ( which I myself have had ) And definitely getting to know the different characteristics of each person. I was just making the statement because it was getting a little unhinged there.
