just having fun with the NAM, GEFS EPS have been very consistent..

The only risk of a southward whiff would be if we saw this rapidly attenuate....but that doesn't appear to be the case on this event unlike today's.

Personally less concerned about a whiff than I am about this slicing and dicing until it’s another nuisance 1-3” event

I wouldn’t expect double digits with this setup but that’s too far in the other direction. 3-6/4-8 is a reasonable call at this range

You're not whiffing with a vort tracking over our fannies...what is going on in here?

The sane thing that always does….somebody mentions a whiff by the NAM…and in a few posts it’s a POS and missing, and then we have posts  saying the next one misses too. What a place.  Ridiculous.

GFS tickling north it seems, gonna be a pretty big hit for most this run

Slightly north, but the GFS has been pretty consistent with a good hit for a couple days now which hopefully is a good thing.

Speeding up in time starts in CT between 6-8pm Saturday night.. has the EURO look of a 4 hour thump of heavy snow .. Has a crazy fronto band along mass VT/NH border likely 2-3" per hour rates..

Good....would love to clear things up Sunday, too many basketball games to reschedule if we have to cancel on Sunday. Another overnight event, besides today, most have come at night this year.

Yeah nice hit, uniform 6-7 inches for most of SNE

Yeah and I’m guessing that ratios would probably be higher than 10:1 in northern areas given a solution like that or in any banding that occurs.

Coming at night… Lots do, no doubt. Noticed this as a kid too.

Another one we can’t get to linger and hang precip back long. I miss those

Fast flow. You don’t get lingering storms…on the coast it might prolong a bit with the 925-850 flow trying to enhance things and almost an IVT look as it departs. But otherwise it’s a quick hitter. Best chance for prolonged snow  is maybe we can get some prolonged overrunning next week for a time. But often it ends up focusing into a narrower window.

That’s a joke…don’t fall for that crap. Good storm and rates, with a good airmass and it doesn’t matter at all.

Oh, not saying it won't accumulate....but 29⁰ on February 16th will accumulate better at night than at 1pm, especially in sun exposed areas. Q

Nah..not at all.  Have to disagree..especially on 2/16 which is prime climo. And any difference at all would be negligible.

See April 4th 2016 in down town Boston with all powder snow in the height of the afternoon, no issues accumulating.
