Well, two things. First, the western part of the county has very different conditions than along 95. And secondly, as I said yesterday, there was already a half day scheduled for elementary schools for parent conferences. In order to keep the elementary schools number of days aligned with the middle and high schools, they either open on time or close in these situations.

Because of today, HoCo has used all 5 of its allotted snow days. Everyone wanted to go in today and not waste it. Well, except seniors.

Ice is the one area where I agree with schools erring on the side of caution.  On the other hand, I think that schools still being closed 138 days after a 6-inch snowstorm is ridiculous.

Up to 32.5 here.

Looks like about 1.20 liquid in the rain gauge.. ice now melting with slightly warmer temps and heavier rain...

Your rain and mine must have been coming from the same cloud.  My Tru Check still has ice inside to melt but very similar.  The two inside gauges froze up at about .20"
