still windy.  stop.

One thing we really excel at around here. Wind. The only time I don't mind wind is when it is snowing, just recently snowed, or there are piles of snow on the ground. Otherwise wind can go F off.

I would enjoy these cold sunny days a lot more if there wasn't a bone chilling wind.

It would be awesome to have a board club/chase house. I'd love it. Anyone sick enough to be up at 1 am on a weekday to hear a PBP on a model run is my kinda people lol

It’s hard thing to manage and run but if 10 or so of us put the money in then we could get a place.

I know most people have jobs and can only stay for a couple days. I'll get the place and anyone that wants to hang out can just come stay. Just bring a shovel and some groceries. Even if they get half the snow they got this season, I'll still be blown away. I'm also going to rent a snowmobile for my stay.

Any if you want any share contributions that’s possible.  Don’t want it too elaborate with a whole bunch of attorney stuff necessary .

its a great idea but involves some details to make it right

I stay up against my will for 4am runs of the GFS. My kind of group!

I don't think I have slept through the entire night this calendar year. It's like my body knows to wake up and check what the latest is. During my Buffalo chase in Nov of '22, I met up with a fella who lived nearby (I'm a member of their Discord chat site) and we walked all over the city in the middle of the blizzard from around 10:30 at night until nearly dawn. This was after not having slept for the previous 24 hours but was just an absolute blast. The excitement and adrenaline kick in. I'm 47 years old and not much really excites me anymore - except chasing snowstorms.

I am also apart of that Discord! I'm friends with Rich over there and have met him in real life. Really nice guy. I love snowstorms. I get that adrenaline kick myself and can go a long time just off that. Plus, being a shift worker has its benefits for training your body to stay up and wake up at weird hours. Not exactly great on the body, but it's the life I live. Still need to see a proper LES event. On my bucket list

Yes, you really need to chase one of these storms. It's so unlike anything else you've experienced. It's been snowing here in MLP for the past 36 hours nonstop. Beautiful flake size, 6 inches in that timeframe and yet in a LES, we can get that in an hour. I think we'll have one more shot for a LO chase after the first of the month. I'm filling @dailylurker head and phone with that idea and to keep a bag packed lol. From the Buffalo area, I know Rich as well - gave him several of the videos I took while in Parish. He does great live feeds and this last one, Stephanie Abrams at TWC published one of his videos.

We're at the city house this weekend and my wife is having one of her power-broker ladies meet-ups at our house.  I'm hopelessly outnumbered and outclassed.  So I retreated to the sun (moon?) porch for a cigar....and it's fucking cold out!  That damn wind just won't quit.  I'm purposefully saving my authentic Cuban cohiba for a warm day to enjoy outside and it feels like it'll never come!

yeah it was pretty brutal in our corner of the city - just incessant wind.  My daughter was not long for playing at the Janney playground after school lol.

I’m retiring in June so if anyone chases next year and doesn’t mind whiskey, keep me in the loop!

When I first starting drinking the good shit after you, Mappy, and Chill recommended Eagle Rare, I tried Rowan’s Creek and thought it was too spicy. For some reason, I’m liking it now…guess my palate has advanced lol. Also, Mazel tov on retirement.

Set a new record low this morning of 7.0 degrees, old mark was 10 from 1988. Temp (and DP) dropped like a rock between 1 and 4 am before starting back up a bit. Currently 10.3/7.8 at 8:30 with clear skies. Still about an inch of snow (likely helped temp drop along with calm winds) on ground in most places. Drifts are compacted down to 5 or so and about 20-30% is open.

I had no idea you were out there in ‘22. That was such an awesome time.

Majestic start to the day.  Forecast indicates high clouds coming and going, but the current satellite loop is inspiring.  Definitely getting some spring fever and very much ready for the milder weather this week.  Maybe the following week can produce some tracking opps.

That was a great storm but was my first LES so I made a rookie mistake and was too far north. Rich in Hamburg got 81" while I got a paltry 45' lol. But what I didn't realize at the time was being near all the windmills, that encourages lightning. For about 90 minutes at the start of the LES, it was as if I was in a mid-summer thunderstorm. Lightning and thunder multiple times per minute and the thunder shook the house. I was in awe - and hooked - on those storms.
