The National Weather Service in Baltimore MD/Washington has issued a Fire Weather Watch for strong winds and low relative humidity, which is in effect from Saturday morning through Saturday evening. * TIMING...From Saturday morning through Saturday evening. * WINDS...Northwest 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 19 percent. * IMPACTS...The combination of dry conditions, low humidity, and strong gusty winds may result in favorable conditions for the rapid spread of fires * FUEL MOISTURE...5 to 10 percent. The warmest temp recorded was 65.8 degrees on the 27th. Averaged low for the month was 25.5 degrees vs a normal of 24.0 degrees, a +1.5 degrees above average. The coldest temp recorded was 7.0 degrees on the 22nd. Overall averaged temp was 35.2 degrees vs a normal of 35.0 degrees, a +0.2 degrees above average. Total precip for the month was 8.04 inches vs a normal of 2.67 inches, a + 5.37 inches above average and sets a new monthly record for February, being 2019's 6.34 inches. The wettest day was the 16th with 1.81 inches falling. There were 14 days with measurable, 2 days with a 'T' and 12 dry days. Total snowfall for the month was 19.7 inches vs a normal of 5.9 inches, a +13.8 inches above normal and falls into 4th snowiest February after 2010/2015 and 1983. Greatest snowfall was 15.9 inches on the 12th. There were 7 days with measurable, 3 days with a 'T' and 18 snowless days. There were 10 days with measurable snow on the ground at 7 am, 5 days with a 'T' and 13 days without snow on ground. Greatest wind speed recorded for month was 52 mph on the 16th. 13 days had a windspeed recorded above 25 mph. Lots of new records for month, the mentioned new rainfall, then daily rainfall records for the 1st, 12th and 16th. New snowfall record for the 12th. Two new record lows on the 22nd and 23rd.
