wxdude64
Well over an inch since this morning. A few flakes mixed in early, but rain since. 33.4/32.5 at 3 pm. Main concern now is the snow melt with the rain, already the small 'run/ditch' that is dry 90% of the year behind the house is running 8-12" deep. And what is running off the hill on the other side of property is moving fast too.

high risk
Several CAMs take most of us into the low 60s Sunday, with the NAM Nest being a notable holdout. Soundings support possible thunder ahead of the cold front.

Paleocene
Cold rain today in February in primo climo is much more tolerable when we've had several nice snow events. And maybe some more to come. It's even pleasant to watch the mod-heavy liquid precip

The forecast soundings show potential for good mixing behind the front, and there will be some strong speeds just above the surface. 4

wxdude64
Wild day and month. Set a new rainfall record for the date of 1.81", just beating 2016's 1.78". Already shattered the monthly record on the 16th of the month! Currently 7.58 for month, old mark is 6.34 from 2019. Rained basically all day, a few wet snowflakes right after it started, but they melted on contact. Temp was stuck 32-34 all day and night, then around 4-5 am it started to rise to the 7 am number of 38.8. Still creeping up, now 39.4/38.7 and rain at 8:15 am. The 'train' is on the tracks it seems. Rivers and creeks are all above flood stage this am. EDIT- still have a 25 bare/75 cover on snow on the ground, ranging from 0 on south hills to 2.5 in shaded/north spots.

Bob Chill
Winds are ripping now. Front was just rain but pretty dramatic. Immabout sick of rain lol. Theres flooding all over down here. Especially west of blue ridge. Considering how many weak trees are hanging from last week's ice, the sound of chainsaws will be prolific next couple days
