Today is the 10th anniversary of one of the greatest winter wx events I’ve ever experienced. Who remembers the epic Arctic front?

I still have video of the whiteout as I stood on my balcony in 50+ mph winds. Then came the flash freeze…and then the coldest February day in DC in decades.

The thundersnow storm on Jan 3rd blew it away in my area. That was by far the best squall I've witnessed.

I only got 0.2" from that, but it was still quite the event.

Incredible event on my son’s 5th birthday. Kicked off an epic next 5 weeks.

Some of the best rates I've ever seen. Total whiteout, wind, less than 2" snow but crazy drifts. I know it was less impressive for some in the forum but absolutely wild here. Otherworldly.

It's ridiculous, 80 inches of snow in 2 days at Mammoth. I have never seen two to three feet of snow on the walk at the Village. At Woolly three were 3 feet of snow in the lot. Some places had 8 foot drifts. It took plows quite some time to get that snow off the Woolly Lot! I watched them do it around 7am Texas time!

Mammoth got just four inches shy of 7 FEET of fresh snow. This is going to be a legendary day of epic powder turns and incredible stashes! Talk about wide open powder! IF THEY CAN GET THE LIFTS RUNNING. IF THEY CAN GET THE RESORT REOPENED. They have sure done an EPIC job of clearing the roads and parking lots, though! These people sure know how to use end loaders with huge scoops! Saw how they did it myself earlier this morning!!

They have got an absolutely Brobdingnagian mountain of piled up snow in the Village!

Gotta hand it to these guys especially on the Deck at Main Lodge! They are really busting their ass BIG TIME clearing snow with shovels! Some of that snow was drifted 6 feet high earlier! They have got wind holds on lifts, delays all over. Gonna take some time to sort out about 6 feet of snow along with still very high winds especially up top we are talkin 9 to 11 thousand foot elevations and enormous drifts!

Mammoth Ski Resort has been closed down for today but is planning to resume operations tomorrow. Two members of their Ski Patrol got caught in an avalanche on Lincoln Mountain which comprises part of the Mammoth resort. Six feet of snow have fallen in the past 48 hours amid 75 mph winds which tend to load cornices. Both were rescued, one is responsive, the other sustained really bad injuries and was transported to a local medical facility.

Just finished catching up from last night. It was funny to see Ralph shit the bed on the Canadian. The euro pbp was a blast. This morning  Mitch and Heisy are doing their best to show everyone how much their shadow scares them. This place is the best even after all of these years.

Edit: and to watch Ji desperately trying to get anyone to agree with his eyore takes. The man hasn't broken character in 25 years....does anyone really believe he's not like this in real life?

It's funny because they've been in our forum from the start and obviously mitch lived in Lithium Maryland but in general those 3 are just part of this forum. Outside of you and a few others they're the most panicky of the group though

But I need to be different here and I really can’t change
