And that’s why I don’t bother to read the long range thread. Too many roller coaster of emotions every 6hrs when models come out. I know a threat is worth following when we make a thread for it lol

It gets very aggravating to read stuff in there at times (many times?). You've got people (usual suspects!) dissing any chances next week already if the models don't show a foot of snow every cycle, and flat out damn near canceling or getting freaked out whether or not the supposed better pattern change later in the month will happen. Jesus! That said, it's still one of the best places for good information and discussion, if one really just pays attention to the knowledgeable posters and good comments, while scrolling through the chaff. But yeah, it gets really freaking old having to do that.

I just would like to read some of the posters here that know what they are talking about explain what might be coming. Not "winter canceled!" over and over.

Jebman
Mammoth is getting demolished by snow right now!!! Winds to 55 mph and 27 inches of freshies tonight!!! Massive AR incoming!!!! those winds are blowing HARD! That snow is getting super heavy and blowing all over the place like that one blizzard last winter! This is going to be FUN tonight!!!!! https://www.mammothmountain.com/on-the-mountain/mammoth-webcam/main-lodge

Jebman
Those aggregates at Mammoth are getting big, in spite of the 90 mph hurricane gusts! This is a FANTASTIC STORM! However, that temperature is RISING. We may well end up with another SLOPFEST like that last storm. It's 31 now, and rising. This AR has a deep TROPICAL connection, and with Global Warming, its just too bad sometimes. You get a metric ton of moisture, and with it, the dreaded warm air blows right on in on shrieking 90 mph gusts. Then the flakes become slushy and the base lodge turns to a wind driven torrential RAIN that pools deep where there was once beautiful deep sparkly snow. Its Midnight at Mammoth and the Village is rain. You can see the water in steps people made in the snow, and the rain hitting it. Its 32 degrees and rising as massive tropical moisture is hosed upon the Sierra. It is still snowing and blowing at the Woolly Lot; the lights at the Main Lodge are out and you cant see anything. I'd say this is going to transition into a very sloppy, slushy storm overnight. Climate Change is real. So much warm air is being directed at the Sierra that cold storms are becoming rare. We got the moisture, at the expense of cold air for snow. Damn it to Hell!

aldie 22
Not the most pleasant of reads in the long range thread. Jebman
Mammoth is just snowing and blowing. The Woolly Lot is becoming a total milkshake froth at times. 90 mph winds just blow that snow all over! There's a guy on a snow tractor getting all buffeted by intense blowing snow! He is clearing the new snow off the lot. More is coming down and is blowing like fracking crazy!!!!! At times, visibility is going to all hell! Its a gray wall! Good bet winds are gusting to 100+ mph. https://www.mammothmountain.com/on-the-mountain/mammoth-webcam/woolly-cam The Village has gone back from rain to all snow again, but they are quite lame, hardly any accumulation there. aldie 22
One thing I've been thinking about unlike the January snows where temps were in the teens and 20s after we will probably be in the upper 30s after whatever falls next week. Even if we get a big dog i bet the January snow will have lasted on ground longer.
