We've now gone 51 days (since Jan 1) below 41F. The longest stretch since 1985.

Although this cold hasn't been extreme, its been seasonably cold since January which is something we haven't seen in a long time so I am grateful for that. YYZ will likely finish DJF right on average.

This stretch is almost as remarkable as the stretch from Jan 25 to March 2, 2015 where Toronto went 37 days below freezing in a row.

Still have a nice snowpack in SE MI. My season to date snowfall sits at 26.9" with 26.0" at DTW. Have definitely made the most out of the snowfall in terms of days with snow on the ground.

Haha and they love it. They "only" had 80" last winter and expect to crack 300" this winter. They are smack dab in one of the biggest Lake Superior snowbelts and it's their livelihood.

Love that area!!  I could live there (wife couldn't though)

I was looking at some info from Minnesota this week. On the 18th, Rochester had a high of 3, low of -19 (tied a record low.) That's pretty nasty when a place in Minnesota ties a record low in the winter. Some of the records at this time of year are -22 and lower, though.

Rochester was 79 degrees just before Halloween.

2025 total precipitation through 2/22 for select Midwest cities. It’s been dry and boring here for awhile. Couldn’t find a major Midwest city with less precipitation then Minneapolis YTD.

St. Louis: 3.99”

Columbus: 3.97”

Indianapolis: 2.66”

Chicago: 2.39”

Detroit: 2.13”

Moline: 1.90”

Duluth: 1.57”

Milwaukee: 0.98”

Madison: 0.70”

Des Moines: 0.59”

Minneapolis: 0.51”

Made it to 50 here, MLI hit 51.

DVN has 52 in the point for tomorrow and Tue.  Will bust low pretty badly.

Good call. MLI is up to 60F.

As an aside, it's crazy to me how fast that February monthly record high maximum has jumped in recent years. The long-standing record was 73F from 2/15/1921. In 2017, it tied this value 3 times and beat it once (74F, on 2/19/2017). Last year, it reached 76F on February 26, and an absolutely insane 79F on February 27. You have to think the first 80F February reading is right around the corner.

Temps really overachieving today. Those SW winds are incredibly strong. Up to 45 now and really putting a dent on the monthly average and snowpack.

DJF now looking to finish slightly above average, temperature wise.

That’s crazy. We are still running almost 4 degrees below average for February here after -2.3 degrees in January and only .6 degrees above average for December.
