I find it sort of weirdly satisfying that Franklin poached Knowles from THE. I feel like PSU is far too often on the other end of those types of shenanigans.

Big time move there. Like some podcast I was listening to yesterday said, Penn State which has always been a major program is now acting like it's one and not what they did previously.

Franklin is finally trying to both appease the fan base while also acknowledging that he needs to do more to get to the level he's expected to reach.

well then, my first post will be

MIKE TOMLIN SUCKS

It's legit infuriating how he wins "just enough" games every single year to essentially walk just beyond the line where the team would be forced to make a decision.

Even if he was a good coach, most times a coach sort of wears out their welcome and at some point, it's time to part ways. Clearly, the Steelers reached that point with him at least a few years ago. Organization is loyal way beyond fault.

Nice to see a banter thread. Though it didn’t really bother me to much mixed in with the weather.

Not much of a sports person these days, especially with the way the NFL is being run. Definitely think there is some corruption going on.

On the political front. Glad we are finally getting some watch on wasteful spending. It’s been long over due and needed.

Disgusted with some of the people in the senate. Purple hair and all. Scratching my head on how these people are in office.

Everyone still think everything is just hunky-dory and is going to be A-OK?

I wanted to respond to this yesterday but didn't know what to say. A day later and I still don't know what to say. I'll be completely honest...I'm embarrassed with how little I know/understand about topics I really should know a lot more about. I've become very jaded over the years. It's not an excuse. I need to be better. What I will say that while overall I very much consider myself a conservative, I'm not one who keeps my eyes shut when I see things around me that don't support that narrative. Climate change is probably the best example. I understand the arguments against it and for some time I fell in line with some of that thinking. (we are merely running in alternating cycles of warmth and cold) However, I can't ignore the fact that sea levels are rising at a rate that's unprecedented. Many east coast communities are on the verge of extinction because of the unrelenting rise in water levels. That seems to be directly related to our warming climate.

On the whole though, I need to get my head out of the sand (what's left of it) and become more in tune with what's happening around me. Right now I'm just too ignorant (in the true sense) to offer much dialogue. That's as honest as I can be right now.

I know that there are some who refuse to come here but I sensed it was the right decision to break off and create a separate thread. I like to try and keep peace. Thank you for coming over and sharing your thoughts.

My thoughts on global warming: Way more housing and a lot of Forrest’s are gone. So it would only make sense.

Here is what I find interesting. Check out the daily temperatures. And the record highs and lows for that day.

Some of the high temperature records were set over 50 years ago or more.

One has to wonder how much government is controlling our climate.

This is a hot topic in my office at work. There are a group of people who are 100% convinced that this is happening. Again to my point from earlier...I don't add much to the conversation but more and more people are on board with this thought.

This became a thing after Helene when Marjorie Taylor Greene said the government controls the weather and that Helene was directed into places that were strong Trump areas so those people couldn't vote.  Think about that for a second.

Scary that it seems to be something that a lot of people believe.  What the.....

Yeah, and I wasn't clear with my post. What I mostly hear being discussed is how the government is infiltrating our lives in different ways and not so much directly attributed to the climate. I uh...don't believe that the government maneuvered a 'cane in any way.

I work for the govt. it is too unwieldy to do 99.9% of the conspiracy nonsense spewed about.
