Baroclinic Zone
Discuss why it’ll snow where you live. i feel models have pushed things further south over the last 24h of models. Initial cold front sinking south will trigger snow squalls early Tuesday. Next focus will be overnight Tuesday as clipper comes through. This will bring a broader, albeit light, precip shield. 1-3”. Need to keep eye on inverted trough that is popping up in modeling. That would bring the possibly for locally enhanced snowfall. Odds favor it being north of pike. Lastly, the inverted trough will sink south, this wall kick off another round of squalls Wednesday afternoon into evening. its all ya got.
UnitedWx
What the hell, I'll bite. I mean it'll be nice to refresh the few inches we have left in my area, even if just for a short time. We'll see how the weekend system (s?) evolve afterwards

I used to be able to say "Because it is late January and I live in Vermont" but sadly that's not always the case anymore. (With certain exceptions along the spine of the Greens) Well it has snowed almost non stop here for the last 3 weeks. The sad part is despite this, our total accumulation is exceeded by Pensacola in this period.
HoarfrostHubb Posted yesterday at 12:50 AM Share Posted yesterday at 12:50 AM Best topic title in a while... Temps are good, the problem is lack of moisture. Maybe 0.1" qpf. So an inch or 2 certainly possible. yay
HoarfrostHubb Posted yesterday at 12:52 AM Share Posted yesterday at 12:52 AM And as Bob mentioned, the possibility of the IVT could give someone a nice boost... good luck determining where though
ORH_wxman Posted yesterday at 01:06 AM Share Posted yesterday at 01:06 AM 18z euro numbers on QPF. If snow growth is decent could be some 2-3” numbers…best chance up near NH border but decent coverage of 1”+ maybe. Could be a good burst just before sunrise Wednesday morning.

Damage In Tolland Posted yesterday at 01:37 AM Share Posted yesterday at 01:37 AM Freshen up the pack. The more south track also takes 40’s out of the mix in valleys , so little to no melting . Gfs beat Euro on this one

You can also see the west sloped hilly areas on that output with the higher qpf with SW flow

DavisStraight Posted yesterday at 02:06 AM Share Posted yesterday at 02:06 AM I can't remember the last time an arctic front in snow squalls that dropped and inch+ in half an hour then was cold and windy after. Happened a few times in the early 90s. Been a while.
