My guess based on the OBS from CP (0.02) that at least 0.2" fell through 8P there.  Ditto here in Wantage, NJ...sort of feeble looking.. Back end of the precipitation in Central PA is showery looking and harder edges implying sleet.

The coastal/warm front is moving N slowly, looks to be around Hempstead Tpke. South of there is probably rain or non accumulating snow since temp is 35-36. N of there is 30 or below. Like a summer time seabreeze.

Upton had us at 33 this hour, still 28 and snow/graupel. The cold definitely hung tough today out here. South of the LIE is into the 30s so we probably have 30 min before we go to rain

If we have decent enough precip it might be hard to really get the warm air up here. This isn’t a strong onshore flow situation and it’s a fairly weak system.

The temps are surprising. Models overestimated by 4-5 degrees. Did not expect main roads and highways to be solidly coated.

I don’t think the freezing line budges much until the precip ends. The cold air seems to be hanging tough north of the LIE in particular.

Definitely. Never made it above 29 here in NJ. A positive busy to hopefully start a snowy stretch
