metalicwx367 Posted yesterday at 04:55 AM Share Posted yesterday at 04:55 AM Had some surprise sleet earlier on south side of town. Interestingly enough on the north side of town people were seeing snow.

Make sure you and Gawx have your Walmart battery packs on standby to charge those phones. We all know much sleet sticks to those power lines! 1

Vicious Fluid Posted yesterday at 01:34 PM Share Posted yesterday at 01:34 PM Virga over my area now (NE Atlanta Suburbs), nothing hitting the ground just yet. This is expected, considering the last few rare snow events we've had always started with "false snow" on radar before the good stuff fell. Here's to hoping for the best! ~Cheers

Benchmark Posted yesterday at 02:05 PM Share Posted yesterday at 02:05 PM Ok ATL locals can you help a Mid Atlantic member out... HRRR and MAN 3k Models showed snow staying south of ATL airport until overnight... now looking like the airport may get some snow from 12-5ish. Wife is supposed to connect through ATL getting in around 3:30 and out at 5pm. What's the chances she gets delayed or cancelled with 1-2" of fluffy snow? The alternates would cost me around $1000 to switch her airlines and airports so trying to decide to gamble or be safe.... TNX

DeltaPilot Posted yesterday at 02:54 PM Share Posted yesterday at 02:54 PM Bench, I think she will be fine. Still gonna be a bit before the column gets saturated. Think things will run fine, but once it starts sticking the deice operation will begin and that will likely cause delays in the range of an hour or so, then it will get ugly into the evening later on. Right now would more depend on where her plane is coming from since there are a lot of impacts along the gulf coast states.
