Heavy snow down here again... Finally starting to stick again

Quickly got to 1 inch earlier b4 2 hours of steady white rain..

Still coming down as hard as it's been all day in Arlington. Took a few minutes to preclear the sidewalks and driveway apron from the heavy layer of sleet. Some cars spinning out going up the hill in front of the house 3-4% grade. Hard freeze is going to make clearing the roads quickly, critical!

as soon as it started puking i got down to 31 so thats probably why im doing better with the 2" per hour rates.

Update: All snow now. SN+ even. Got a pic of the heaviest sleet I ever did see before it switched to snow.

Breezes have picked up.

Have had sleety snow at all different intensities. Then it went to all-snow and was quite heavy for a while. 

Steady snow now. Small flakes make it look less intense or threatening. Sidewalks, car tops, deck and my side street all whitened. Will measure after.

Just hit 32 at 4:30.  Moderate to heavy snow .  Approaching 0.5” on board and all surfaces whitened

I measured 0.3" before the heavy rates.
I come back 15 minutes later and I see 1.2"

Now it’s time for me to hallucinate nonexistent pivots.  But truly that was a sweet band.  Totally took it from wet and sad to deep winter in a half hour.

@jonjon wonder how you've fared today. I'm up to 8.6" so far, but the sun is poking out from behind the clouds so things are winding down from the synoptic system. We should have some more upslope tonight, however. Temp down to 17.8.

So, A blast of winter hit my area around 4 with wonderous snow, but at 4:35 it's about over. All it did was make up for the snow melted during the all day rain.

Snow has lightened some. But it is still accumulating. Just measured 5.2 inches on my board.  Snow 28 degrees.

The last band moving through has huge dendrites. Really high ratio stuff. Temp down to 25
