lol...if we miss out on snow from the mid of next week until Feb im going to severe, systems seem close to every 3-4 days

I am with you.  Cold & dry I will take a hard pass on that type of wx.  Plus yesterday near 60 was great.  My grass really is green after the snow melted off of it. Spring bring it on!

12z HRRR paints a slightly more realistic picture than it was yesterday, though there are still several 1" bands on the map. The plateau looks good to me. Hopefully, we can capitalize on what will be the mid-state's best chance for snow during the next 7 days...

It's been terrible in my area. So far it has underforecasted Snowfall amounts at close range here. I suspect bad reporting from the " official" NWS Observer Site's is at least partially responsible as that goes into the Model Ingest System. It tends to overdo downsloping as well as John has noted.

Yeah yesterday was fantastic. 53 at my house but felt like 65. Kick this cold to the curb if we can’t cash in. However it’s good for the environment to get cold for a while. It’s also good for lawn. Freezing and thawing over and over again is a good natural ground aerator.

They must have just updated.

They update or install new advisories strange some times. There was 22 minutes between the cold weather advisory and the WWA. Seems like maybe 5 to 10 minutes or so between the updates is enough time unless they were having IT issues

Yeah, you're looking great up there. Some Models showing 6+ there.

More fun from Bobby: “4 pm Update 1/18 for Middle Tennessee winter Weather later tonight and Sunday morning.

We get into the left exit region of that 100 kt speed max in the overnight hours tonight into Sunday morning.  The latest forecast soundings have found more moisture than previous runs. I now think 1/2 inch with up to 1 inch looks possible in the Nashville area. 1 inch along the plateau but upwards of 2 possible in the Upper Cumberland. That 10 model blend looks  good to me for amounts through 6 pm Sunday. CAMS blend is also good. Freezing almost down to Kuttawa Kentucky  at 3 pm 1/18. I'll do another update this evening.”

My snow didn't melt off in the rain. I've had snow on the ground since Jan 5th.  I should manage to make it until at least the 26th or 27th if not longer.

Barring a return to some of the modeling looks, this will be the first time in my life with 20+ days of snow on the ground in January that didn't feature double digit snowfall totals, generally 17-24 inches.

Latest NBM has backed off on amounts for Tomorrow. There appears to be a slight trend North with it. We wanted a southerly one. RAP is clearly evident. More widespread 2-3" amounts cover more of Kentucky, now back to Central Ky.. SREF same deal except more widespread 1-3" area extending Northward into Ohio.

Hopefully, the area will expand further SE again but, I wouldn't bank on it.

Looks like the CAM are leaning heavily into downsloping SW VA and they are a major player in the NBM inside 24 hours.
