Snow just wrapped up here in Bayside, Queens. Just some flurries now. Just around 4” on the dot. Looks like it was 2-4” citywide, probably lost 1-2” inches when there was light rain and sleet all afternoon. Snow didn’t really start until 445 or so. 5 hour storm, few more hours and we would have had solid 3-6” across the city

Finished up just under two at my house. About 1.75. But really nice powder on top of a layer of literal ice (already), shoveling / cleaning cars was interesting. If the early precip were snow I probably would’ve had only about 2.5” or so, there was a definite death of moisture at around 40n with this system.

Regardless, I’m more than happy with the wintry vibes. I’m at about 4.25 inches on the season - Toms River / Manchester border.

Be safe guys. Seeing the consistency of that icy slush under the powder I really think tomorrow AM is going to be messy in spots, so locales on a line from me to the city that started with rain / mix.

3.5

9.4 for the season

I measured 3 and half too. Nice event and I'm glad we got about what we were expecting.

As you said, it's nice that this will be sticking around all week. This is a higher impact few inches than usual since there won't be any melting for several days.

Not bad to be at almost 10 inches for the winter. Our first real winter in quite awhile with below average temps and near average snowfall. Hopefully we can keep this up and get to average snowfall of near 30 inches for the winter.

The true ccb is starting to take shape. The current low is just south of islip li atm. The pressure chart shows where the lows were. im assuming its throwing back moisture into the metro ..li and eastern parts of jersey..

Akeem?

Just flurries over the last hour.  No additional accumulation.  Winds have picked up and are pretty gusty.  Snow is blowing off rooftops etc.   it looks and feels very wintry out there.

Temperature down to 16.

For your location its pretty much a wrap, for eastern areas of jersey..metro nyc and li..we still have a band to move thru.

As of 8:45 pm we have 3.3" OTG at 28F, as temps are starting to drop more quickly. That's about 0.6" the last hour, as intensity wasn't as consistently high. Guessing we have another 20 min of moderate/heavy snow, then maybe another 30 min of light/moderate snow after that, so thinking we'll get to 3.7-3.8". Still a cool storm and we're going to have this snow around for a couple of weeks, which is nice (for me).

As of 9:45 pm we had 3.5" OTG as intensity lessened more quickly than expected. I then shoveled, which wasn't too bad since I had shoveled the slushy bottom layer earlier and near the end of shoveling we got a bonus extended snow shower, picking up another 0.1" for a final total of 3.6". A trained spotter in Metuchen reported the same 3.5" as me at 9:38 pm and I saw a report of 3.5" in SI a few miles away. A little disappointing vs. the 4-6" NWS forecast early this morning (and my 5.1" prediction yesterday), but still a fun storm and everything looks great. Season total is up to 10.4", which is close to normal for this point in the winter.
