Discussion-OBS slippery plowable moderate to high impact snowstorm with many delays near I95 and inland btwn 10AM Sun 1/19-4AM Mon Jan 20. R/S line uncertain near and east of I95 - parts of LI may be limited snowfall of around 1"?

One thing to be mindful of when you have a shortwave riding the backside of an arctic front, is that the timing of the front is often slower to move through than forecasted and could end up favoring areas away from the immediate coast.

 

Not that I expect that to happen, but it's well within the range of possible outcomes and these setups and volatile and unpredictable.

Yes the snow seems to arrive just after the cold air arrives otherwise we start as rain
